Two replacement dates for Jan's are set.

August 14th and Sept 18  West Farmington are the first replacements for the canceled Jan's Pulls.

August 14th will be a swap meet and pull with the swap meet starting at 10am in the ball field area in the center of town adjacent to the pulling track.

The pulling will begin at 1pm. Do to the limited space in the track area we will not  be able to have our Outlaw classes at these pulls. There is just not enough shutdown area to accomodate these tractors at this track. Our apologies to the outlaw tractors.

Sept.18th will be weigh in at 10am Pulling will begin at 12 noon.
West Farmington has been one of the greatest places to pull and we are very excited to be returning.

We are also working on possibility of a pull in the southern Portage Co. area. We are in touch with a number of locations on who will host our year end pull and party. So stay tuned for the developments we will keep you posted.

The Majic of Mantua Continues...

OGTPA finishes up another action packed weekend at The Mantua Ox Roast Fair.
We would like to thank everyone who attended the open pull on Saturday the 17th and the Championship contestants from Sunday's finals.

We are proud to serve the finest tractors and pullers from all of the area's clubs. We have seen some of the  closest, best pulling competition in Northeastern Ohio.

We have seen a girl power week end with Brooke Geis, Heather Werner, Rosalynn Glass, Nikki Shafer and the new shooting star Morgan Pumneo.
We have watched a developing juggernaut in the Stock class in the Garrettsville Gang of Plott, Chambers and Dollison.
Should anyone want to finish first in the Improved Stock single classes, you will need to first pass by the veteran team of  Patchins, Silvernail, Cowfer and Rolland  from Farmington.
In the Improved Twins will Matt Meardith ever get the newest young gun Max Retych off of his back?
The number one hit rated show of Tj Price and Nikki Shafer continues to rule the airwaves of the Hot Stock Single classes.

This author would like to know one thing about the Hot Stock twin class..
Is everyone afraid of the machine like consistency of Sam Huey? Where are they hiding Sam?

We have in the Pro Stock Single division what appears to be the Queen and her court. Where Rosalynn Glass seems to be having her way with royal subjects brother Michael and Cylde Arnett.

In the Pro Stock Twins, the hot newcomer to ogtpa pulling, Jim Miller and his screaming water cooled Kawasaki, found out that Fred Dearth of the "Dearth Brothers Express" will always have a say in how his classes end up.
Oh yes, and by the way in the Pro Twins, " who is Scott Fortenbury?" Don't look now but here comes one more hot pro twin to the scene!
The outlaw division is on the change. In addition to the formidable  Mike Singleton and the legendary CubZookie, we welcome from the Ohio Mod Rods Mr. Doyle Winkler and his unbelievable near perfect machines.
In true tradition with the Johnson Performance Fabricating style, Miss Heather Werner pilots her JPF Outlaw with Evil Kenevil like performances and unstoppable hooks.

Ohio Garden Tractor Pullers are very proud to serve these stars and all of those that are rising and twinkling throughout the pulling skys of Northeastern Ohio and Western Pa.
We invite you to come out and see the show and spend some quality time.
Thanks to all the volunteers family and friends who made this pull possible.
A special thanks to The "God Father" of Garden Tractor Pulling...
"Big Daddy, Don Sample" Don Thanks so much for stopping by to vist!

New Classes for 2010!

  •   Mod/Stock becomes Improved Stock
  • Hot Singles and Hot Twins are the New class for 2010
  • Stock Twins to 20 hp. goes away
We are excited about the changes for 2010. It's our goal to give you the best classes and competition.

The split in our old Mod/Stock class came from what was an obvious division between the "older style" Mod/Stock tractor and the new version that has become known as the "Hot/Stock" tractor.
We feel that the new class of "Improved Stock" will allow the puller that transition class that is still highly competitive, although affordable.

The new "Hot Single and Hot Twin" classes will give the puller who wants a high output governed tractor a place to let it hang out.

Classes for the new Hot tractors.
Hot Singles
  • 11hp. and under.
  • 12hp. to 14hp.
  • 16hp. to18hp.
  • 4000 RPM.
*Flat head only.

Hot Twins
  •  Limited to Small Block V-Twins and Flat headed opposed engines.
  • No Big Block Kohlers no Big Bore Onans
  • 4000 RPM.

 Improved Stock

Tractors running the improved stock class  will run the same rules as the old Mod/Stock classes.

Please follow this link to see all the tractor specifications defined.

Updated:  July,25 8:00pm

Attention all ogtpa pullers..

OGTPA has to announce with great regret, that Jan's Campground has informed us that they will not be able to host their remaining 2010 events.
Do to a death in Jan's family, legal and family issues she has had to make this decision.
We wish Jan and all her family the best and hope to continue in 2011 where we left off this summer.

The Ox Roast Challenge Champions have been posted

Notice to all competitors important tech information.

It has come to OGTPA officials attention that there are tractors with issues in the following areas.

  • RPM's, stock are to be 3600 and improved and hot stock are 4000 max.
  • Sheilding, No tractor will pull without proper safety sheilding.
  • Air Cleaners in the stock class are required. No velocity stacks of any kind.
  •  Front Counterweight or balancers in the improved stock class. The rules do not allow external or front (pto end) weight . Although we are aware that heavy front starter pulleys are being used. There are no rules regarding the weight of starter  pulleys although, we will only allow these pulleys if they are being used to start the engine with a starter generator unit. After market or hi torque  ring gear starters are allowed, although a front starter pulley may not be on the engine with that type of set-up.

Membership Fees to be waived for open pull in Mantua...

OGTPA will waive the membership fees for the open pull Saturday July 17th.

"This will be a one time only waiver."  Designed to allow the " Ox Roast only " pullers not to have the extra expense of membership on top of hook fees for a one time event.

Should you wish to attend other OGTPA pulls you will be required to obtain membership at that time.

   __________

This Summer Will Include ATV Pulling Again For 2010

Following numerous requests Ohio Garden Tractor Pullers will be hosting a number of ATV only pulls.

When details are finalized we will post them to this page and our 2010 schedule.

_________

Changes for 2010 include class registrations

*This year pullers will only be allowed to pull up into another class if the there are enough tractors for that class to take place.

There must be at least  Three(3)tractors of that category for the class to be run.

In the event there are 2 or less tractors are present we will make every effort to pull those tractors in some other class.

This change will be added to our general rules area.
_____________

M-1 Methanol added as new fuel option for unlimited RPM classes.

We are going to include M-1 methanol to our fuel options for the unlimited rpm tractors. It is our desire to include as many tractors as possible in these classes. We feel that this will help to do that. This should also give some relief for the sky rocketing price of C-12 fuel. In addition to cost savings it will allow you to gain some power while running your engine a bit cooler.
